Tarkhine pottage


Tarkhine pottage is a local meal that belongs to Hamedan, Lorestan, Markazi and Kermanshah provinces.

Tarkhine is a local word in language of Lorestan province.



Local people prepare this meal in the summer and keep that dry to cook that in the winter.

Tarkhine, wheat groats, lentil, split peas, onion, vegetables and dried whey are the ingredients of this pottage.



Local people compounds these foodstuffs and boil them; after that they put it in front of the sunshine to dry it. Then they keep this dried foodstuff up to the winter and boil it in water to be ready to eat.

Tarkhine pottage is useful for curing colds.
